Abstracts
I have discovered that I have an appreciation for abstract photography. With my camera, I love to explore textures, colors, and shapes in ways that perhaps are a little different from what one might consider conventional.
It’s not too surprising I suppose, seeing that I live in a wilderness region of Canada, that water and ice often find their way into my abstract work. Water and ice have such a delightful way of warping and twisting light, creating their own distorted versions of reality that beg for attention.
And I love the idea that the results of this exploration will usually be somewhat uncertain. This uncertainty makes the pursuit so much more interesting to me.
Please note that I have made these images using my camera and then performing only basic, standard editing afterwards. In other words, these are photographs that don’t look a whole lot different from the raw images that came out of my camera - not digital paintings created on my computer.
